Annual Black History Month Celebration
Empowering Voices Amplifying Black Narratives In Leadership


The Afro-Caribbean Mentorship Program (ACMP), University of Manitoba, Red River College Polytechnic and University of Winnipeg will host one of its most popular annual Black History Month programs. This event will celebrate the Black African Diaspora community in Canada and pay homage to the great accomplishments of the Black African Diaspora people throughout history, leading to the present. The event will involve panel discussions, Black business showcases, Bursaries for Black African Diaspora students (secondary and post-secondary Winnipeg students), recognition for trailblazers in the Black African Diaspora Winnipeg community and much more.
Black History Month is a time to reflect on the rich and diverse contributions of Black Canadians to the social, political, cultural, and economic fabric of the nation. From the early settlements of African-descended peoples to the ongoing advocacy for racial equity and justice, the Black community’s legacy in Canada is one of resilience, innovation, and leadership.
This year’s Black History Month celebration in Winnipeg centres around the transformative theme: “BLACK NARRATIVES LEADING OUR COMMUNITIES:
