HAIRSTYLES AND CONVERSATION: TRAUMA, IDENTITY AND HEALING

BARBERSHOP TALK SERIES 2

FREE REGISTRATION

Culturally familiar spaces, such as the barbershop, help Black men and boys heal by serving as trusted, safe places where they can discuss many mental health issues. The barbershop encourages positive social well-being without obstacles. These spaces act as important community centres that reduce barriers to participation, fostering open and honest conversations about sensitive topics like depression, PTSD, systemic racism, and identity.

On March 28th, 2026, The Barbershop Talk Series will host the second part of the Hairstyles and Conversations program. The discussion will focus on trauma, identity, and healing, encouraging Black men and boys, as well as the wider Black community, to rethink the Mental Health Conversation. This aims to help participants feel seen and supported while fostering stronger bonds with their Black families and communities.

We are pleased to partner with Ninety Five Beauty, a Black-owned barbershop and salon. Together we are fostering conversation in community with community.
