Aika Mathelier has been dancing since the age of four (4) in Port-au-Prince (Haiti), where she was born and raised; she has a background in classical ballet, jazz/hip-hop, contemporary/modern, tap dance, Haitian traditional dance, and latin dances.
In 2011, in Montreal, Aika became a member of the dance company EKSPRESYON founded in 2003 by Regine Cadet and Sibyl Graham. In 2014, Aïka became a teacher and choreographer for the dance company, to then join the Artistic Directors of the company in 2017. In April 2019, she took on the role of Executive and Artistic Director of the company.
