More Than Networking Part 2
Workshops | Networking | Q&A
The Afro-Caribbean Mentorship Program (ACMP) presents “More Than Networking Part 2”. ACMP is dedicated to making Afro-Caribbean Carleton undergraduate, and graduate student experiences positive while encouraging them to be confident members of our Ottawa community. In doing so, ACMP has organized its last event, which focuses on teaching students not only how to network but also how to get ready for their carriers. This event will include Afro-Caribbean professionals, and many other community members from different ethnic groups.
The “More Than Networking Part 2” will be an opportunity to learn through workshops, to prepare for a successful career and also network with students from different backgrounds, with professionals and also with various members of the Ottawa community .
For our last event, we will have 4 different workshops which are:
- How to Write a Targeted Resume and Cover Letter
- How to prepare for an interview
- Create or Strengthen your LinkedIn Presence
- Get a Professional HeadShot
We are encouraging students (undergraduate, graduate, and high school) to build their professional networks with many of the professionals in the room that evening.
The purpose of the event is to build a stronger Ottawa community. ACMP is mobilizing this event to be a learning experience for both students and professionals. Attendees will increase their networks while recognizing the need to support the social development of students.
We are holding an event on Saturday, April 27th at Carleton University. Doors will open at 11am until 5pm. This event is open to the public — all students, and community members, are encouraged to attend this FREE event.
