On Friday, February 25th, 2022, the Afro Caribbean Mentorship Program (ACMP) sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada, hosted its fourth annual, one-day (online) Black History Month event. We humbly celebrated our diverse Afro-Caribbean Black Canadian communities like previous events. Our intent is to continue to pay homage to the great accomplishments of Afro-Caribbean Black (ACB) people throughout history leading to our present times.
The event purposely set out to support ACB businesses and their economically impacted owners by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our efforts consisted of empowering our community to “BUY BLACK,” while enticing audiences to support Black businesses through commercial segments throughout the online program.
This event was a wonderful celebration of the successes of our community. It was well received and well attended, with participants joining from across Canada. The success of this event underlines the need for continued support of programs that provide opportunities to the broader ACB community.
