On Friday November 19th, ACMP and its partner organizations held a new Barbershop Talk event that focused on identifying problems that members of the black community face when interacting with law enforcement and the penal system. This was a joint event that was hosted concurrently in 3 separate locations: Ottawa, Winnipeg and Toronto.
This event was hosted by Dr. Warren Clarke (Professor – University of Manitoba) and was centered around discussion questions on the obstacles that the ACB community faces in addition to providing advice to the younger generation regarding how to navigate such challenges.
The audience engaged with the panel regularly, and actively participated in group discussions. This was one of ACMP’s most well-attended online Barbershop Talk events, with over 140 registrants.
